Open methodology

Every result should be traceable.

WorkloadWise uses straightforward operating math and your inputs. It does not infer a local market rate, copy a proprietary production standard, or hide assumptions behind a confidence score.

01

Monthly visits

weekly visits × working weeks ÷ 12

Uses an annual service commitment instead of assuming every month has four weeks.

02

Labor-hours per visit

cleanable area ÷ production rate + fixed labor-hours

Fixed labor captures setup, inspections, security, restroom detail, and other work that an area rate may not represent.

03

Crew clock time

labor-hours ÷ crew size

Crew size changes elapsed time, not total paid labor-hours.

04

Loaded hourly labor

wage × (1 + employer burden %) + fixed hourly benefits

Employer costs are editable because they vary by business and jurisdiction.

05

Monthly job cost

labor + supplies + travel + equipment + site-specific costs + allocated overhead

The result includes only the categories and assumptions entered.

06

Target price

total cost ÷ (1 − target gross margin)

Tax is separate and excluded from the pre-tax price and profit result.

07

Equivalent markup

gross profit ÷ total cost

Markup and margin use different denominators.

08

Calibrated production rate

previous rate ÷ (actual hours ÷ estimated hours)

Shown only as a suggestion for materially comparable work.

09

Realized margin

(actual pre-tax revenue − actual job cost) ÷ actual pre-tax revenue

Actual cost and revenue remain optional and local to the device.

Units and precision

Area is normalized internally so square feet and square metres produce equivalent workloads. Calculations retain full precision until display. Currency is formatted for reading but the engine does not round intermediate monthly frequency, labor, cost, or margin values.

Examples are not benchmarks

Default figures are labelled examples and exist only to demonstrate the tool. Replace them with your own cleanable area, observed production rate, loaded employer cost, operating expenses, overhead allocation, and target margin.

What the estimate cannot know

An online calculator cannot inspect floor type, restroom density, occupancy, access, security, soil level, consumables, safety requirements, union terms, local taxes, service specifications, or unusual travel. Complete an on-site scope review and obtain qualified payroll, tax, insurance, and legal advice where needed.
